I understand 3-4 years ago it was quite dodgey, but things have improved a bit since then. Anyone on here been? Got any advice? Cheers in advance. Sydney_Iron 6:13 Tue Feb 9 Re: Solomon Islands Mate of mine who is Aussie Police went for a few months during the troubles about 3 years ago, very like Papua New Guinea as its very tribal and most of the violence is tribe related, fairly backward but he reckoned the expats had a good time, maybe abit like Afghanistan but without the locals wanting to kill you but rather each other, although at night apparently it was a no go unless you were in groups. You still get your problems areas like in most countries. He was in the shop yesterday and was in the Solomons 10 days ago.
